have you ever been told by someone that you should listen to a inger/artist bc they were of a different race?

I don't care if you don't like taylor swift, this is not what the question is about.

ive been told (on twitter) that I cant like taylor swift bc im black.

other black people have been critical of me being a swiftie. they've called me a coon, said that black community doesn't "claim" me anymore, and 2people even said if I was a slave I'd want to be r*ped my the white slave master

no joke

I always block them but its ridiculous.

my mom who is almost 50 said she didn't have problems with people in her younger days like that, why in 2016 is this a problem?

HAVE YOU OR ANYONE YOUVE KNOW HAD A PROBLEM LIKE THAT?

(ps I listen to other white artists too)

They are idiots and just showing their ignorance & racism.

look through the rock & roll hall of fame list - it's pretty much evenly divided, race-wise:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Rock_and_Rol...

Music always used to be race-neutral - in fact, when segregation was still enforced in the USA, musicians & music fans were the most likely people to have friends regardless of race; they just wanted to play & listen - race was irrelevant to them, even if they got in trouble for it.

Just listen to whatever _you_ like! The idiots will go away or grow up eventually.

Nope. And whoever told you that is a moron. Music and race should never be in the same sentence. Its one of the most accessible forms of entertainment we have. It can bring people together. Dont listen to that bull*hit. Its coming from people who dont understand that music is non biased. Its for all. No matter what color you or. Or religion you are.

I haven't, but I'm definitely sympathetic. The internet is a really mean place sometimes and I'm very sorry that you have to deal with that. It's crap. People are jerks. Just goes to show how unevolved people truly are when they are given the gift of anonymity. My line on it is, enjoy what you enjoy and enjoy the hell out of it because the only person who you have to please is you. Let your Swift flag fly high and fly it proud because anyone of any value will support your ability to enjoy life the way you see fit.

I'm black and I honestly don't like Taylor Swift but I won't judge anybody for it. I never had anybody tell me that but one mixed girl told this white girl in my school that she can't listen to Hip-hop. It's fine whatever you want to listen to but don't judge others and don't let others get to you.
