Can a late 90's Honda civic door key lock be interchanged with another car manufacturer key lock?

    It probably can, especially if it is a manual lock and you can find one with the same barrel diameter. You could also buy a new lock and key set specifically for your model Honda. Those old Honda locks are garbage - they get worn down to the point that any old Honda key will unlock any old Honda lock. Replacing the lock/key is a good idea if yours is at this point and it really shouldn't be that hard to do.

    Yeah if you want to go to the trouble of modifying one.

    A new one is only 27 bucks at Rock Auto.
