    Actually, there is evidence that in Roman times CI made the S sound. So in his day, it might have been pronounced SIK-ero. (Hence, the pronunciation of "circle.") Today it's SiSS-ero

    Usually in English we say SISS-er-oh, but in Latin at the time when he lived it would have been KIK-er-oh.
