whats the best AMD processor for pc gaming?

i have the AMD FX8350 but for some reason people hate on it they tell me its multicore and that will cause problems with performance/fps issues and bottlenecking so im wondering what is the best AMD cpu they have to offer?

i know the i7 and i5 is a better choice but i have a amd system cant use intel in it its not that simple plus intel chips cost as much as a small car £229.99 for a i5 and thats only the chip i cant do it, so whats the best AMD cpu for gaming? i play high end action games like gta 5 metal gear solid 5 battlefield 1 etc

There really isnt a better CPU. The catch 22 about a FX-9590 is it needs a big AIO cooler. But, you would need a big AIO cooler if you wanted to overclock the FX-8350 to the speeds of the FX-9590. Overclocking the CPU will get you within striking distance of the Intel Core i5 and Core i7 CPUs

I wouldn't look at an upgrade until AMD releases it's Zen CPUs. However, those are rumored to cost over $400usd

You pretty much got the best one.

They aren't bad CPUs, it should do what you need. They only lack in situations that need really fast single thread performance, which very high CPU load games would need. Like turned based games or huge scale RTS games.

Intel's prices have gotten crazy! I got an i5 CPU 2 years and it's price has gone up $50 since then.

The way you can check if your system is waiting on the CPU is to watch your GPU usage when gaming. Use a program like GPU-Z. If your GPU is maxed out, then it's the GPU is what the computer is waiting on (which is usually the case). But if the GPU isn't maxed out, then the game is probably waiting on the GPU.

Just overclock the 8350 and you'll be good for a while. You really should consider switching to Intel because they have infinitely better IPC, which means the CPUs are a lot faster even though the GHz is lower. An i5-6500, H110 mATX board, and 8 GB DDR4-2133 will cost around $300 USD.

what kinda car you gonna get for that price? price/performance for intel cpus are better than amd, but if you already have that CPU no reason to change it yet. it will continue to run fine. Upgrading it to 9590 or something doesn't make any sense and would be a huge waste of money

Amd fx8350 is good for gaming also depends on the gpu you are using as well most games only require only quad core to run them

According to CPU benchmarks, your CPU is just as fast as an i7-2700K or i7-3820. Your CPU will do fine for games of today and years to come. What is your graphics card ? Games utilize graphics card(s) more than CPU. For those games, you can get anything from GTX 950 upwards. Depending on resolution you want to run it on. If you want to run them on Full HD (1920x1080) then better get GTX 970 or 980 or 1070
