Because this is the composition of diesel exhaust. My friend says diesel exhaust is breathable since it contains O2 while I saw no, it is lethal due to the CO2.

Yes...you would be dead in a matter of minutes because your blood would quickly become saturated with CO2

Diesel fumes are fatal for more reasons than that, they're also carcinogenic.
