What Anti-Virus software should i get?Help Please?
Just bought a new computer windows Asus. It looks like this:

It came with a free anti virus CD but I'm a bit skeptical since normally those never work. Is there any good Anti-Virus software that's free? Which one do you guys use?

If its come with Windows 8 or 10 then it will have Microsoft's built in antivirus software installed which for a normal user should be fine.
Some good free third party ones are Avast and Comodo (Comodo offers a firewall as well as antivirus software)
As well as antivirus it might be worth installing some additional malware/spyware apps such as MalwareBytes or SuperAntiSpyware but you only need stuff like that if you're going to be visiting a lot of websites and downloading a lot of things
Personally I use Avast on the family computer as its less confusing and Comodo on my own computer
Hope this helps :)

Assuming this new computer has Windows 10 installed as the Microsoft operating system, you have Windows Defender, a very good Microsoft anti virus software. I have installed two other free virus protections that I trust. Malwarebytes ( free version ) at .org and SUPERAntiSpyware ( free version ). Used for years with no problems.

What is the operating system? If it's new, I assume Win 10. If so, Win 10 comes with Windows Defender which is very good.
If you want something else, then buy Kaspersky as it is very good too.
But Windows Defender is perfectly fine.

Get Bitdefender. It ranked higher than avast in virus catching plus offers PC cleaning, just my experience.

I like Trend Micro. It has a malicious website/malware blocker, too. Works in the background. Not as slow as Norton to boot up.

YES! Use Windows 10 and the built in Windows Defender. Nothing else is needed...

Avast is better than most paid antivirus I've been using it on my job 12 years now

The free ones are not safe - go for Norton - if you get the 5 license you can use it on your phones and tablets also.
