There is this teacher in 8th grade i had and i was a bad student (academically) in the start of the school year where i almost failed. But now i am in 10th and i am making honor roll and i would like to tell my previous teacher my current progress. Do you think she would be happy to know how her former student is doing now?

You could, you seem to want to prove it to her. Just let go and forget her unless you want some sort of future relationship or reference letters
