What is the difference between Office 365 and Office 2016 suites?

    At a VERY high level:

    O365 is a subscription service, and provide a LOT more than just a desktop client application.

    Office 2016 is a suite of desktop applications that are also available from an Office 365 subscription.

    Office 365 has an annual subscription and can be used with multiple devices. For Office 2016 you only pay once, but it is only for 1 PC.
