Guinea pig advice!?

My Guinea is roughly 5 years old now, I ve noticed she s been a bit more quiet than usual and less lively like staying in her bedding area most of the time only coming down to eat and drink which I put down to her getting a bit older.... 2 weeks ago I weighed her and she weighed 871g, today I weighed her again and she s lost 220g she also has a bit of crusting around her eyes... Would it be advised to book a vet appointment? Thanks in advance :)

being five years old does not mean that the guinea pig has to die. With the amount of weight loss and the crusting around the eyes along with the inactivity, this pet should be seen by the vet as well as being hand fed supplements of Oxbow Critical Care Herbivore, 10 to 15mL a feeding at about 3xs a day.

The average lifespan of a guinea pig is 4-7 years. The issues she is having may be due to overgrown teeth, age or some other disorder. The crusting around her eyes could be an upper respritory infection. I would take her to the vet. Unfortunately when these animals get sick, they are often really sick before you notice and often do not recover.

She needs to see a vet. Get her in as soon as possible. She doesn't sounds too sick yet but they can get worse pretty quickly.
