Did I apply for the wrong major in college?
I want to go into studying for a BA in English. My acceptance letter says "The degree program to which you are admitted is English Education". I have received 2 other acceptance letters and they both say "BA in English" and not "English Education". Is it the same thing or is it completely different?

You did apply to the wrong major. Perhaps that school doesn't have a plain ol English major, and that somehow misled you.
The same goes for theater; a theater major versus theater education = totally different

Call the school, they are the only one's who can answer your question. I recommend starting by calling admissions, if they don't have the answer and don't direct you to someone who does, try calling the registrar.

It seems to me that "BA English Education" means that you will study to be a teacher of English in elementary or high school. My best advice is to go with a letter that says "BA English."
