No. It wasn't the biggest robbery in professional boxing history. There have been many, many worst than this. But boxing also had many great legit fights alongside the occasional robbery or fix. Past eras were full of many more skilled fighters.

Boxing presently is going through a bad low. And it doesn't need robberies like Hooker-Perez and Kovalev-Ward.

    YES!!!

Kovalev CLEARLY beat Ward! I like Max Kellerman, but this was a BAD DECISION, not simply a controversial one.

The recurring problem here is... JUDGES ARE CONSTANTLY PICKING AMERICANS, UNDEFEATED FIGHTERS, AND THE YOUNGER FIGHTERS.

A judge's JOB is to accurately score who won a fight. However, instead of doing their JOB... they somehow think they're doing a service to boxing by choosing the AMERICAN fighters first... then, if BOTH fighters a non-American, or Equally American, they choose the fighter with the undefeated record... If BOTH or neither are undefeated... then, they choose the younger fighter! Its criminal! This is killing the sport!

Kovalev beat Ward up! The opposite cannot be said. No matter how you scored the close rounds... Kovalev won AT LEAST seven rounds, AND had a knockdown over Ward! Judges are judging NATIONALITY, not fights!

Besides THE FACT that Kovalev won the fight, this is bad for boxing as, THERE WILL BE NO REMATCH!!!

Ward KNOWS he LOST the fight, and will NOT give him a rematch! Andre Ward is going to drop back down to 168lbs, and say that he doesn't "feel right at 175," or some similar type of garbage. In the post-fight interview he first said, he would give him a rematch, then he said, "I'll have to go back, and look at my options." Which is "boxer talk," which means, "I'm going to duck this fight, and go back to my previous weight class."

You heard it here FIST... "THERE WILL BE NO REMATCH!!!"

I like Andre Ward, and going into the fight... I thought he would win. But, he didn't, and was awarded the victory anyways! Ward now knows he can't beat Kovalev, he knows he LOST, and will NOT go through with a rematch!

AND... This is what destroys boxing!!!

It was a very close fight. I had it 114-113 Kovalev, but I can kinda understand it being the other way. Ward got back into the fight in the second half and arguably won 5 of the last 6 rounds, clearly at least 4 of them at a bare minimum. The whole performance was very tentative and nervous though. You could tell he was very concerned about Kovalev's power the whole time. And more often than not, Sergey looked like he was the boss. Ward looked VERY mortal and vulnerable in there.

Are the secretive, sinister, insider-crooks intentionally causing this uproar in order to give us a rematch, to increase profits... then give us a 3rd fight, making it a trilogy, so they can continue to dupe and swindle the public? I wouldn't doubt it. "Yeah, keep the suckers on the edge of their seats... keep them waiting for more... keep tempting them so they'll come back for more... and we'll get filthy rich!"
