how much does it cost to run a 60 w light bulb an hour in ontario canada?

    That will depend on when you run it. Look up the rates you pay for the time you run the bulb. It's on your bill or on a website. I don't know any more if Hydro One is the only hydro provider in Ontario.

    Find the rate per kilowatt hour at the time you run the bulb. The abbreviation is kWh. If it's 18 cents, that means you get one kilowatt hour for 18 cents. You would have to run a 60 watt bulb for 16.6 hours to use one kilowatt hour. Divide 18 by 16.6 and that's what you pay to run a 60 watt bulb for an hour at 18 cents per kWh.

    Karen is correct. Ontario has "time of use" rates, meaning the price you pay is higher during peak periods. So it depends on what time you decide to turn that 60W light on.
