Religions teaching that people go to heaven and live like God when they die, perpetuate the lie told through the serpent in the Garden of Eden, that if they ate the fruit of the forbidden tree, Adam and Eve - and their descendants - would not die, but instead would become like God.

Most religions don't teach all good people go to heaven.
Most religions teach only their faithfull go to heaven.
Only those with pseudo personally customised faith believe you can get into heaven simply by being good and such belief is not support by any religious faith.

Most do not teach that rather it's the just that will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, the just are made righteous through Christ being that mankind is undeserving of the Kingdom of Heaven.
As the result of original sin which was the fall from God's Grace for all of mankind we can only return to God's Grace through Christ being that we are reborn into original justice as Christ had said it the only one that is good is God being that God Himself is the source of all that is good.
1. So we know the what the flesh desires conflicts with the Will of God but when we die our spirit is no longer bound to the flesh. So without the flesh there is no desires of the flesh.
2. There is a final purification or Purgatory after death even though we are spirit and no longer bound to the flesh we are still whom we were before we died we don't lose our identities but we still might had unhealthy attachments to the things of this world the idea behind a final purification or Purgatory is to detach the person from those unhealthy things of this world because nothing unclean can enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. But of course there are those who are unclean spirits they were wicked in life and they will continue to be wicked after death for them there is no Kingdom of Heaven.
3. The heavenly gift of the Holy Spirit called Sanctifying Grace is what is necessary for entering into the Kingdom of Heaven which is Christ it's not something which we can earn but it is something which can be rejected like the unclean spirits (wicked) reject. It's the Sanctifying Grace which gives us the inclination to obey the Will of God, the saints in the Kingdom of Heaven are like Adam before Adam had committed the first sin they are like Christ without sin. All the sins which we had committed and repented for are washed away by the blood of Christ as a result of Sanctifying Grace.
So if you take in all three factors the saints in the Kingdom of Heaven with Christ are like Christ without sin they are the righteous forever. No desire to commit sin, no temptation to commit sin, and the only desire which remains is to obey the Will of God.
----
As for the resurrected body on the last day the flesh will have no worldly desires a blessing for the righteous whom live in the spirit and a curse for the unrighteous (wicked) because what they desire in spirit they can not have in the flesh. As Christ is resurrected in body so shall we all be resurrected in our bodies on the last day.

No religion teaches that, go ahead and name just one.
Islam and christianity teach that believers go to heaven and nonbelievers go to hell.
Buddhism and hinduism teach that you suffer hell for the bad karma you accumulate to cleanse you before rebirth, but only to the point that you need cleansing.

Probably not Christianity.
Mark 10:18
18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
1peter 4:18
And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

Yudhishtira in Maha Bharatha answers a Question put by the Divinity in Charge of DEATH ( who is in the guise of an Yaksha) =>
"ZRUNU YAKSHA-( Listen Yaksha-) NOT BY READING
SCRIPTURES 1000 Times-NOR BY LISTENING EXTENSIVE SERMONS IN PLACES OF WORSHIP--NOR BY OBSERVING TOO MANY RELIGIOUS -RITUALISTIC PRACTICES--A PERSON GOES TO HEAVEN.
ONLY BY his or her HISTORY ( CONDUCT and CHARACTER) =
" CHARITHRENA" -PERSON GOES TO HEAVEN OR HELL.
EVEN GOD CAN NOT MESS UP WITH A PERSON's HISTORY SHEET.
HOW CAN GOD's GRAND SON CAN MESS UP WITH ANY BODY's HISTORY SHEET.?

Because they have been taught this by their clergy, who don't believe the Bible anyway, who they were taught this at seminary by theologians who likewise didn't believe the Bible, who were also taught at their seminary by theologians who likewise didn't believe the Bible, who were also taught at their seminary by theologians who likewise didn't believe the Bible, who were also taught at their seminary by theologians who likewise didn't believe the Bible, who were also taught at their seminary by theologians who...ad infinitum.
Someone, many years ago, took a stab at who the 144,000 of the book of Revelation might be. [It was discovered later that he turned out to be the janitor of the Seminary of Christendom, and who was a better plumber than he was a theologian.] So, our janitor friend took a stab with a pin and came up with, "It had to be the Jews, let's blame it on the Jews, they won't notice, they get the blame for everything."
So, the Jews got the assignment. HOWEVER, our man WAS a better plumber than a theologian. God had very publicly cast off the Jews after the murder of His Son Jesus in 33 C.E. So, why would God choose the Jews for an assignment that would put them in close association with the person they had assassinated.
Those members of the 144,000 who were scripturally "bought from the earth," were Christians identified as "the Israel of God" at Galatians 6:16. They were members of the "new covenant" spoken of at Jeremiah 31:31. They could be viewed as "spiritual Israelites."
Check for yourself at Romans 8:16, where it is clarified that only those with a personal, direct, private, invitation from God himself is the way to get into heaven. Even Jesus has used up all his 11 invitations on his faithful apostles.
Sorry. [Please don't just give a TD. I need to know where I went astray. Thank you in advance.]

Most religions are a perversion of christianity and judaism and these two share the same God.
