I am wonder if atheists feel guilty about ruining Ken Ham's Ark Encounter?
It seems that Ham is claiming that they are doing good business, but they are not doing good business because people lie and say they are not doing good business, which keeps them from doing good business. I thought that their announcing layoffs was a larger signal that they are having problems, but they say is those darn atheists. https://answersingenesis.org/ministry-news/ark-enc...
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality4 years agoA question for atheists, what would make an entity worthy of worship?
I would expect wisdom, kindness, fairness, humor, intelligence, a passion for justice, and above all sanity in an entity worthy of worship.
Those are obviously not characteristics of the biblical god.
Take as an example, the story of moses and the pharaoh. Moses demanded that his people be freed and then god "hardened the pharaoh's heart" so that he would not do as moses asked and then god punished the people of Egypt because the pharaoh's heart was hard. What a jerk!
I'm thinking George Burns, Morgan Freeman, or(dare I say it?) maybe even Edmund Gwenn!

These two gay guys at the college told me that they met on Christian Mingle. Were they kidding me?
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality4 years agoWho wants to play, 'Spot the Nazi'?
Here's how we play the game. Below are two quotes, one is from a leading evangelical minister and the other was a Nazi Reich Minister , but which was which?
A. "Christ could not possibly have been a Jew. I don't have to prove that scientifically. It's a fact"
B. "But we can establish for you clearly apart from these phases of identity that Jesus Christ is not a Jew"
So lets all put on our thinking caps and see if you can;
Spot the Nazi!

Here's how we play the game. Below are two quotes, one is from a leading evangelical minister and Donald Trump supporter and the other was a Nazi Reich Minister and Adolf Hitler supporter, all you have to do is guess which is which!
Quote #1 "Christ could not possibly have been a Jew. I don't have to prove that scientifically. It's a fact"
Quote #2 "But we can establish for you clearly apart from these phases of identity that Jesus Christ is not a Jew"
So lets all put on our thinking caps and see if you can... Spot the Nazi!
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality5 years agoI have a religious political question or do I?
So, there I was, surrounded by New Day Baptist members, when the biggest sweatiest ugliest New Dayer of them all, Martha the Methodist, waddled up. Now I know what you are going to say, if she is a baptist, why do they call her Martha the Methodist? To tell the truth, that remains another unsolved mystery. As they say, god works in mysterious ways.
So, anyway, Martha, who has by then plopped herself onto(actually more like around because she hung over the sides) her Mobility heavy-duty electric scooter. Ironically, since medicare payed for the scooter, it had an "End Welfare" bumper sticker on the back.
So Martha says, "I wants to debate ebolution wit youse." Do you mean evolution?" I asked. She immediately blew up, "The good book calls it ebolution so ebolution it is!" she yelled. At that point one of of the people who were there to keep her from falling of the scooter, gave her a swig of Jack Danial's and whispered in her ear. Martha screamed and whipped out her bible and a black felt tip marker. When she opened her bible I could see that large sections had been blacked out. At any rate, she scrawled the letters C-A-T across two pages and said to her helper, there it says EBOLUTION right there! Don't call me a liar *****, I never lie about the bible!
To make a long story short, should I try to get a hold of Donald Trump to tell him that I think I have found his long lost mother?
Jokes & Riddles5 years agoIs anyone else not surprised that the most crime-ridden city in America is still ranked as among the most bible-minded cities?
But, naturally all of the top 5 are on the most religious list.
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality5 years agoA question for christians?
There are many gods, none of whom have presented any way that you could know which was correct. I wonder though, if the truth might not be there, if you only chose to see it.
Of the many religions, christianity is the only one that teaches that you may disobey commandments given by god. As an example, you eat bacon.
Isn't it possible that the fact that men have told you that you may disobey commands from god provides a hint?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality5 years agoIs this good news for christians?
It seems that a York County, South Carolina Pastor, who shortly after getting out of jail for stealing $ 8 million from religious investors molested two young boys posing as a doctor doing hernia exams, has been given probation.
Doesn't that prove that the persecution of christians is easing up?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality5 years agoDo people realize how dangerous those christian websites are?
Christians site have surpassed pornographic sites for passing scareware, malware, worms, or Trojan horses. According to Symantic "religious and ideological sites” are three times more likely to contain malware and viruses.
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality5 years agoChristians, how many believe that Jim Bakker's downfall was because of witches?
I always thought it was because he broke numerous laws, but on this video, he says it was witches.
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality5 years agoDoes this story explain why pedophilia is such a huge problem among christians?
A deacon at the New Market Christian Church in Dearborn, Missouri openly admits to raping 5 year old girl, and yet the congregation leaps to his defense and calls the victim a liar.
Do christians have no shame?
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality5 years agoAre you grateful to Jim Bakker for telling us how to avoid cannibalism?

4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality6 years agoDid you here about this bishop in Syracuse?
According to the transcript of a deposition he made in 2011, when asked if a child who had been molested by a priest is guilty of a sin, his response was "“The boy is culpable,”
Now he is trying to backtrack and claim he was misunderstood.
How can we doubt the evil of christianity?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality6 years agoCan someone help me straighten this out?
I have been told that although god will always punish you for enjoying yourself, he does not punish you as severely for laughing when someone falls and breaks something as he would if you were just laughing because something is funny.
My question is, if we all either go to hell or to heaven for all eternity, In what way are we punished or rewarded for those specific acts? Is hell less hellish because I pleased god by laughing when the little old lady fell off her walker in front of the bus? Is heaven less joyful because my girlfriend kissed me and I enjoyed it?
It seems like eternal reward or punishment removes any reason to worry about the details.
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality6 years agoAm I the only one that thinks the churches coddle pedophiles?
I was reading about the Alabama youth pastor with 29 sex charges against him that has just been hired as a "music pastor" by a church in the Dallas area.
They justify the hiring by saying he has not been convicted of any crime yet, so they hire him for a position that puts him in contact with children. Shouldn't the safety of the children be the top priority?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality6 years agoCan any christians provide some insight regarding the people who selected the books of the bible?
We know that it was men who decided what would and would not be included in the bible. There is the claim that it is somehow "divinely inspired," yet when I look into the people who were supposedly inspired, none of them were what I would call ethical.
As an example Irenaeus made inflammatory statements about gnostics that were obviously bald-faced lies. What about that suggest divine inspiration? Isn't it more likely that books that might support gnosticism were rejected because he hated gnostics?
