What is the difference between a profile and a memoir?
In my college writing class, she is giving us the option to do either a profile or a memoir on a veteran we know. She explained it, but I m still confused about the difference. They both seem the same to me? And for each, do you write it from your point of view, or the person you re doing the writing about s point of view??

A profil is about who s/he is. A memoir is the story of his/her life. People usually write memoirs, because they want to pass down a message or lesson with it.
First person PoV seems more effective to me, but you can write it anyhow.
