Is it bad that want move back down to my old neighborhood the second I hit 18?

To make a long story short I moved away from my old neighborhood when I was 14 and have hated living here ever since so I decided that when I turn 18 I'm going back down to my old neighborhood the only problem is it has gone down with a bunch of druggies and crime happening basically on a daily basis but it's where I have lived basically my whole life and I'm not ready to give it up yet so I am currently 16 turning 17 in about 2 months and I was just wondering if this was normal and if anyone else has had the same experience I have going on right now
