Yes, it is too early to judge Jayant, but there is enough evidence that he can develop as a proper all-rounder who can be even a better batsman than Ashwin but probably never as good a bowler.

Put him in England Australia or South africa then judge him. You can't judge people over one very good performance when ashwins scored some important runs for India consistently. Ashwin is better for me

It is too early to make a comparison between both of them in terms of their batting. Jayant Yadav has a good technique, his inclusion has certainly added more depth to the Indian batting order.
I feel Amit Mishra's inclusion instead of Jadeja would do a lot of good. Amit Mishra is a better bowler, and he can bat too.

He looks like a top order batsman hes on his way to being better tha Ashwin becouse he has started better

He bats at no 9 and his avg has shot up to 100+.Good batting technique for a no 9 batsman. Deserves to bat before Jadeja.
