Anyway to make my ps4 detect 5ghz wifi signal?
my landlord cutoff the 2.4 ghz signal I have no way of updating my games...he did allow me to use the 5ghz signal so i'm trying to find some way my ps4 can detect it without upgrading to ps4 pro

Not easily.
I mean you could set up a Smoothwall router box with an old PC and a couple of cheap wifi cards and get access that way.
But there is no real reason to turn off the 2.4 band on the router, even if his devices are all 5 ghz. Explain to him that your machine only does 2.4, and you would like to save your money for paying the rent, rather than blowing it all on a new console.

Doesn't the PS4 support wired ethernet? If so, you can use a client mode travel router to convert ethernet to WIFI. You'll have to configure the router in client mode.
