Anybody here have experience with the human resource department of a business?
Hello, I am wondering how hard it will be to get a job. I am 48 years old and about to graduate from a state university with a bachelor's degree with a Political Science and English double major. I worked as a waiter 12 years ago but quit when I inherited a small amount of money so I could pressure my passion, which is writing. During those 12 years, I worked as a freelance writer, having short stories and a novel published. I went back to school 5 years ago. I plan to work as an intern somewhere next summer before I graduate to get recent work experience.
I am wondering how challenging it will be, with 1 being easy and 10 being difficult, to find a job being a 48-year-old college graduate with only freelance writing experience and an internship as work experience.
Thanks.

It will be a 10 level difficult. First there is your age...companies don't like to admit it, but they don't like to hire older people. 2. No experience. At your age with no type of relevant experience...yikes. 3. Your degrees. Where are the useful skills in these degrees? What type of work would you like? If you are doing writing work, a degree isn't really necessary at all if you are good enough...so what was the point beyond your "passion"?

Are you hot? I manage a Waffle house and I only hire hot employees so I can bang them.
