I'm going to say buy and hold on average. There are many who claim otherwise and I have had 200-300% + returns on individual trades. But for my entire portfolio, buying value has paid the best. If someone tells you otherwise, ask for proof

there is no difference when it comes to trading as far as profits are concerned, what you make depends on your expertise in buying and selling
the term 'day trader' is defined by IRS and if you comply with the requirements it means you report your sales on Sch C rather than Sch D, as a sole proprietor
