how do i fully format windows 10 whenever i try to do it through settings it says something went wrong "try again"?

    You don't 'fully format' an operating system, you format a disk, or disk partition, which wipes all the data on it. Everything, never to be recovered.

    You can't format a drive that the OS resides on. It would blow away the formatting program and any tables it creates while running. Use a boot disk.

    You download active kill disk make the bootable CD restart and boot to that disk which will obliterate everything on that hard drive.

    you can reset windows without a boot disk

    start

    settings

    update and security

    recovery

    reset

    choose either to keep your files or delete files
