First gynecologist visit HELP?
I m 13... and have no mom. My mom is currently going through a divorce... she has been unable to care for her children for a while. I never talk to my dad about anything. In fact I hate talking to anyone about periods except maybe one close friend. I do have an older sister, my mom supposedly didn t prepare her for her period either. In case ur wondering i already got mine. She is 8 years older then me so luckily, I have someone to buy me pads. I do however wonder when I should see a gynecologist... I have no problems with my period I do get cramps occasionally nothing severe and I m not sexually active. I m extreamly nervous I hate talking about vaginas and I d hate for someone to look at mine! My sister isn t someone I can exsactly talk to about this. So please help! I m freaking out! Here s some of my questions...
- when should I see a gyno
- will I have to be naked
- what will she exams
- can u please go thru everything

You should see a gyno if you start having any issues, or become sexually active. If you are normal (sounds like you are) then I'd say you don't need to. But going to the gyno does not always include an examination. Expecially if there are no issues or sexual activity. But if there is, they will probably examine and/or run a culture. Thats where they take a q-tip and swab your vag and cervix (it does not hurt.) You won't have to necassarilly be naked, but you will have to remove everything waist down.(pants, undies, shoes) And try not be embarrassed hun, remember they examine vaginas everyday, & they have been to school for it. They know what they are doing. I felt the same way a few years ago when I first had to go. I DREADED it. But what REALLY helped me was getting a female gyno. The first time is always the most nerve wrecking because you don't really know what to expect and for other obvious reasons, but by the second-third time you won't even care, I promise.

In the UK Girls never visit a Gyno unless they have problems. So why do you think you should go to one.
Waste of time.

Rilly? Christmas Day and your only concern is going to the gynecologist?
I gotta think you are a man on here for sexual reasons.
Take it to an adult site.
HTH.
