What is your best cure for GERD?
I was diagnosed a couple months ago, and I was worried for some days that I was having a heart attack. Since I did jumping jacks and the pain got less by it, I took antacids and felt better, etc. I'm finally convinced. The first doctor (naturopath) told me that I had to give up wheat. I didn't like that option so I went for a 2nd opinion. The second Dr. (MD) gave me omerazole once a day, and on my next visit 2x per day. That took the pain from 90% to about a 5-35% flux.
So I finally gave in a couple days ago and gave up wheat. My son was already gluten free, so it was easy to know what to do... I just don't like doing it. It cut my GERD pain in half. But since I'm new to this, I welcome any information or life stories about how long it has lasted for you, what you did that worked and what you did that didn't work.
Do you find that posture does anything to make it better or worse? It seems like it's worse for me when I slouch.
I'm going to leave this question open for a while. There has to be a better answer than easing the symptoms of the disease. I read somewhere that cabbage juice helps.
It has been a couple years, and I thought I'd say that the cure for GERD, as I've experienced it, is avoiding things that make you sick (wheat, cow milk, corn), apple cider vinegar with the mother every couple days, pickle juice when you're in pain, and chiropractic. My GERD is gone 6/7 days a week. Antacids made it worse. Made me iron and magnesium deficient.
I also recommend Dr. Todd Watts parasite protocol. I had at least one two foot long worm come out.

Tums!! And when you sleep you have to elevate your head. Also, no spicy food and acidic ones. Milk helps a lot too because it costs your tummy.

Avoid the things that cause it. Or buy a bottle of Gaviscon and use it when the burning starts. I buy the double strength stuff.
