If you get a heart transplant, can you take your old heart home with you?

    NO! The doc's may take a picture for you during transplant. But, in most cases the organ is used for "inspection" and research. Some folks do have a "funeral" for their old heart, but it is a memorial WITHOUT the organ. I had a heart transplant 9-1/2 years ago.

    No you can't.

    Yes, there are laws against. Specifically those dealing with the disposal of medical waste and human tissue.

    Yes same with all transplants. Some people keep them in a jar to be buried with them at death.
