What's a better laptop, HP or Dell?

A few years ago, Dell had some real problems with reliability. Not sure if those have been fixed. My HP is running like a champ.

Compare the specific models, not the brand. Go to http://reddit.com/r/SuggestALaptop for better suggestions.
And in general, look for 1920x1080 resolution over 1366x768. 1366x768 resolution won't let you fit much onscreen, and in larger displays such as 15.6", it will force everything onscreen to be quite huge. Having 1920x1080 instead of 1366x768 will likely affect how nice the computer is to use more than the differences between most other specs.
For basic use, these are good. All have 1920x1080, and everything else plenty well specced for normal use.
