The Walking Dead; Does Negan know about the deal between Hilltop and Alexandria?

Unlike most people I liked season 7 of the walking dead but that's one thing that bothered me. Because when Rick and co were trying to get Maggie help, the saviours seemed to know they were going to hilltop as they kept blocking the way. Yet when Negan sent Simon to deal with Gregory he never brought it up or punished him, so are the saviours just letting Hilltop off the hook or do they not know of the relationship between the communities?

Actually, do you remember the episode where Maggie showed off her tractor skills, Simon was pushing Gregory very hard, because he wanted to hear him say it, Gregory being weasel he is, tried to expose Maggie, and Sasha(but Jesus put them in a different closet), so he exposed his private whiskey-stash, and later that night someone cracked the gate, drove a panzered-car in with loud music, drawing all the walkers in.

So they definitely suspected Hilltop, and punished them, they just didn't know for sure, so they didn't have 1 to make an example of.

Source(s): I like Season 7 too, it's great how they don't pander, but tell the story, and I can't wait for the 'tribal era' to start.

I don't know if this is addressed in the graphic novel, but I can't think of anything in the show that would point to his knowing. Of course, I don't get the impression that Negan is stupid or misses much, either. I guess we'll know soon. And, I'm with you on liking this season. I'm not one of those fans who thinks the show "should" do something or not. Sorry I can't be of more help, though.
