right incisor was pulled down and is longer than left. I told ortho and he put a kink in the wire to push it back up. Is this normal?

Also, my bottom teeth are not flat either, but my gums are aligned. I think the plan is to polish them down to make them even(top too). Can I opt out of this or should I not? I'm concerned about future sensitivity and am a believer in tooth preservation.

I have Damon braces, and although my teeth weren't horrible to begin with, I'm concerned about the root shrinking since Damon system is meant to speed up treatment.
