I bought a desk top microphone for my computer How do I get it to work?
I have tried all the USB cables on my pc- It still don't work. The maker of the microphone is INSIGNIA. Do I have to install this microphone? Is there something I am doing wrong? How do I get it to work?
Nope. It only works for a second then it stops working all together. Also there is a flashing blue ligh that is appearing on it

sounds like a bad unit, i would recommend a RMA warranty claim and trying another unit.
during the phone call customer support will help you troubleshoot it before sending a return label, just insist on a free return / replacement if they can't walk you though getting it to work since they sent you a broken unit and you shouldn't have to pay 1 cent more to get a working one.
(if they say policy is you pay for return shipping talk to a manager that policy is ALWAYS flexible and if you talk with a manager it can be waved.)

Plug it into the microphone jack.
Then hit the start button and type in "manage audio devices"
then go to the recording tab right click on your microphone and hit enable as default device.
Should work then.

Did the New Hardware wizard appear when the microphone was first plugged in? Did you allow driver installation, and was it successful?
