How is raising minimum wage helping people?

I am making 13/hr currently and minimum wage went from 9 50 to 11/hr so its screwing basically everyone who makes more then minimum wage. Prices are already going up. I live in washington. For me this is bad because i dont get a raise just because minimum wage goes up.

    Just because wages went up doesn't mean cost of goods has to. Profits can be met w/ sales by volume as per the fundamental dynamics f/ a capitalistic economy. Higher wages means less employee turnover which improves production. You sound like you're sucking on sour grapes because you're nearer to the minimum wage people you don't like.

    Plus, the higher minimum wage puts less burden on gov assistance. That should make the righties happy ... they hate how people get gov assistance.

    It's not;

    It's giving government more authority with causing more to become unemployed and more dependent on government.

    It's merely a step towards total govenment authority and us becoming a socialist utpoian nightmare

    the point of the wage increase was nothing more than to stimulate the economy and bring in more money and it does just that. i too live in washington and have seen prices go up but not by enough to be concerned about at 13/hr.

    You can always give it back. Some people just have to find something to complain about. No offense.
