With the dressiest suit and shirt, pindot, Ivy League or solid color are good in blue or maroon. I like maroon a bit better. For a bit less dressy look, the stripes or Tiffany print aree Ok.

Blue ties are dignified, but I like the bright contrast of a maroon necktie with a dark grey suit and white shirt. I suppose an Ivy League tie is dressiest. If you want a more relaxed look, wear the striped tie.
