Is there a greater social meaning to the sitcom "King of the Hill?"?

Is Hank Hill, in particular, symbolic of some thing or things?

Hank Hill represents a good hearted, redneck, conservative, family man. The show is mostly about an average family in Texas. Mike Judge based the show based on his experiences growing up in Eastern New Mexico which he says was similar to Texas. Peggy is a housewife with the side job of being a substitute teacher. Bobby is a normal teenager. Basically the show is about any average redneck conservative Texas family with subtle satire of liberalism and conservatism.
