Why are people afraid of the dark?
Even children as young as they're able to voice their fear. 2-3 years old are afraid of the dark. Children that haven't seen alien movies or chainsaw slasher movies and shouldn't have a reason to fear the dark still are afraid of the dark.

Well at first it's natural to be afraid of the dark however after a certain age if the child is still afraid of the dark to the point where they are unable to function normally then there may be an underlying issue.
