Do you think that arts purpose has always been for an individual to express their thought and feelings? If not when do you think it changed?

I know when I draw it's always the things I think about. It's my thoughts and definitely my feelings and if anything that is the main reason I draw or paint. I think someone can lose this connection with their art though especially if the main reason why they draw is for profit. I'm not saying it's wrong and if people like your art, do it! But never forget to draw with your heart, to make it yours. If drawing makes you feel good, do it. If it's challenging, do it. But if it makes you feel numb, make sure you really think about why. That happened to me once, and it was a terrible feeling, I realized I was stressing too much over it, so decided to just go back to enjoying it, and have created some really cool stuff :)

I am just thinking of poorly done cartoons or movies that had no original inspiration in them, I think that sort of art is just to make money.
