What is the whole process for impeachment?

the House of Representatives argues and votes after the recommendation of the Judiciary Committee. After impeachment, the Senate may convene a trial (or not, as happened with Bill Clinton).

Mr.357 is incorrect. If the Senate finds a guilty verdict, its only power is removal from office. A judge who murdered a lawyer in his courtroom couldn't be sent to jail for a day by the Senate. The case would then go to the appropriate court.

The House would have to hurry up and vote to impeach Obama before he is forced out. Then the Senate could vote on what ever punishment they deem appropriate.
