What hobby should I move on to?

I recently stopped dueling (YuGi-Oh) because I don't have enough money to play on a pro level, and I kept running into pros with a false sense of superiority and childish attitudes. My friends recommended that I play a similar game, Magic the Gathering, which is apparently less expensive and has less cocky players. It's a sound idea, but I don't want to repeat the same process I underwent with dueling. My friend is teaching me about computers, but I don't have enough money to make that a hobby in any way. I'd like to buy and build my own computer in a few years, and invest in PC games, but I have limited options for hobbies to entertain me until then.
