Depends on the department.

Some only care that you have a valid in state DL at time of appointment and from then on.(which all require)

Some require no suspensions or revocations in the last 5 years.

Others think a speeding ticket is a big deal.

Most departments that have good background investigators take the specifics of each ticket and the total in to account. What they are looking for is someone who does not show a on going disrespect for the law.
