Maple Syrup is out of the reach of most restaurants. It's mostly flavored corn syrup. So just what is the point here?

I seriously doubt any chain restaurant serves real maple syrup. Have you seen the prices on maple syrup these days? When I was last in New Brunswick (long time ago) we bought a tiny bottle and ate it over a few days on bread. It was so good! You forget how good the real thing is when you just have maple-flavored syrup.

I'm surprised to learn we make more maple syrup than the country with the maple leaf on its flag! What we really import from Canada is oil and gas and softwood lumber. We need all those things a lot more than we need maple syrup.

The US produces more maple syrup than Canada. Michigan produces maple syrup too, as well as some other states. Besides, I'm pretty sure all those pancake places serve corn syrup that has been dyed and artificially flavored to imitate maple syrup.

Maple trees require a cold spell for the syrup to run. Global warming has drastically reduced maple syrup production and Trump doesn't believe in global warming.

    What a conundrum.

There are a few states which can be considered "basically Canada" and VT is one of them. The solution for the Canadian satellite republic of Vermont would be to annex it.

Pretty useless state if you think about it. Very one dimensional
