Should we replace prison sentences with flogging and hanging for the death sentence?
Additionally, the system would hopefully be streamlined.

Could even lower taxes too. Possibly a pillory for juvenile offenders might be worth a thought as well.

Well, there would certainly be more fear of the sentences, and possibly less convicted crime, but it would be terribly inhumane. Think about it.
Flogging- Flogging is an incredibly painful punishment, often slicing into the victim's flesh, and with that comes blood. And you know, blood is messy. Do those prison officials really want to be mopping up bodily fluids? In Roman times, when a slave acted against his master, that slave could be whipped to death. In case you didn't know, Roman lashes were extraordinarily painful. They were composed of iron rods, knotted wire, and topped off with small blades. Do you want to have that horror revived?
Hanging- For the longest time, this was the standard death punishment. The French replaced it with the equally horrific Guillotine, surpassing the noose in efficiency.
There are two ways to hang someone; it depends on whether you want a slow death for them or a fast death. 1. You hang them, then cut the rope, killing them instantly.
Source(s): 2. The traditional way of hanging takes 4—16 minutes to kill the victim. It is a terrible death, and you die of suffocation, your lungs feeling as if they are on fire. Compared to all of this, the death and imprisonment sentences feel very tame. SOURCE: My encyclopedic knowledge of torture. (Whoops)
