Is Intel HD Graphics 620 any use for basic video editing?

I have just bought a Mavic Pro drone that shoots 4k video and now I m looking for a faster laptop for basic video editing and adding of audio. I ve found a laptop with i7 processor, 8GB RAM, 500GB SSD but it comes with Intel HD Graphic 620. Is this any good for what I need it for? I ve heard I should get a laptop with NVIDIA. Is this true? I ll just be using for basic editing and a few Youtube vids. Some info on this would be helpful.I just see a lot of mixed statements all over the net. Thanks

    It will work "fine".

But the advantage of a good dedicated GPU is that modern programs can use the processing power of the GPU chip to do complex maths, like processing video files. So a machine with a good GPU can resize or add effects to a clip faster than one that relies on CPU power alone.

But a good GPU uses a lot of power, and makes a lot of heat. This make it a problem in a laptop, you need more battery, more cooling, more heatsinks etc. That adds cost and bulk to the machine.

For basic editing you can get by with only CPU power as you aren't trying to edit the whole LOTR movie series.
