Why do most folding stocks on rifles fold to the rideside where the ejection port is wouldn't it make more sense to put it the other way?

Most users are right handed.
For a right handed person, the rifle will be held by the fore-end with the left hand and the stock extended by swinging out and around.
If it folded the other way, a right handed users body is in the way of the stock folding open.
