what's a good excuse to tell your wife your going to the gym?

Why do you need an excuse? Just say you are looking to go to the gym, and prefer the one on your way home so will probably join that one.

The real reason?

Tell her the truth. Tell her that you prefer the other gym and it's on the way home anyway.

If she really doesn't believe you and has trust issues, tell her to Skype you with a video call while you are supposed to be at the gym. You can easily turn on the video on your phone and show her that yes, you are indeed at a gym working out.

have bigger issues to work on if you

feel that you have to make up a story

rather than trivia like where to work out.

Why can't you just tell her you'd rather go to the other gym?

You tell her the truth - you prefer the gym that's on your way home, it's convenient. Is there a reason she would think you're cheating?

Tell her your boyfriend is working at the other gym.

Try telling her the truth, that you want to start going to the other gym (and why). What's so hard about that? If there's no real difference in gyms, then why not go to the one closest to home, so on your days off, you won't have to drive so far to workout?

You don't have much of a marriage, hun, if you're trying to make up lies/excuses for such simple behavior. If your spouse doesn't trust you, your marriage is doomed. If you are intending to cheat, your marriage is doomed.
