It will not MAKE people buy form you, but look at Dawn dishwashing liquid. They advertise that their product is used to get oil out of wildlife.
If you like lidlife and have a choice, would you not support Dawn ?

Yes it is a good sales tactic. Lots of products in British shops are what are known as 'FAIR TRADE' products which help poorer countries. For example Colombian coffee farmers are able to take more young people to work on the coffee plantations and keep them from joining gangs and getting into drug cartels. Chocolate produced in Africa helps young people out of poverty too, and gives them an education.
