How can I back up 1,800 songs from an old Sansa Fuze to Windows Media Player?

Update:

The plan is to download the songs from that old device and not lose the songs, which I then want to download to the newer device.

Just in case - buy a high-capacity thumb drive, and make a copy of them on that, too. If things go well- fine. If they do NOT - you have backup. These go on sale all the time at Staples, etc. - and it's a lot cheaper than paying a tech to retrieve things you fired.

Connect the fuze and click add to library on WMP or simply drag abd drop the files from the player.
