Good deal on a car?
I'm 15 I'll be getting my license in about a month and a half. I've been working the past year and half and saved up close to $900. My parents said they can pay for half of the car. I found a 2005 Hyundai Elantra GLS hatchback for $1,500. I'm hoping to talk the price down a little if possible but it's got about 187,000 miles on it. I know they might be deceiving, but the pictures show it's in very good condition. Is it a good deal?

It sounds like a good price, and it might look great, but looks can be decieving. If it checks out mechanically and seems to have been well maintained you may have a possibility. Do not worry about the miles, that would be about right for a 12 year old car. Worry far more about how it was looked after.

Yeah for your first car you might wanna find something with less miles. It might be fine, but it might not be.

No. You're spending all of your money on a car that could very well quit tomorrow. That's too many miles.
