build an ammeter?
You need to build an ammeter that can measure up to 0.5 A. You are given a galvanometer that reads 15 μA at its full-scale deflection, and are told that this galvanometer has an internal resistance of 7000 Ω. What value should you choose for the shunt resistor to convert this galvanometer into an ammeter?

(0.5- 0.000015) = 0.499985A. must flow through the shunt.
(0.000015/0.499985) x 7,000 = 0.21 ohm.

0.000015 * 7000 = 0.000105 volts for full scale deflection.
You need a shunt of 0.000105 / 0.5 ohms
= 0.00021 ohms or 210 micro ohms
