Cannabutter smells like spinach?

Please note this was my first attempt at making this:

So I took a half a stick of unsalted butter till about 1 and 1/2 to 2 grams of OG Kush I let it simmer for about an hour only stirring about four times and when was all done and I strained it it's smell like spinach and I was wondering if it was supposed to smell like that and the only reason that I cooked it for an hour was because the site that I read said that you only had to cook it for 45 minutes on low heat by the side to give an hour just to make sure and if this is normal can someone please give me an opinion on how potent it will be since I let it sit in the fridge for about 4 to 5 hours
