Should i take honors english?
So next year i go into 9th grade and we are actually supposed to fill out out application. I am definitely taking honors world history and biology along with math next year since i know i can definitely get through those with an A or B but im not sure about english. This year, i took pre ap history and english, but i am having trouble with english. History is fine. Now im interested in history, and not much in english. The teacher says to take what you are interested in. But my main question is, can you get into an ivy league with one regular- level class? I mean, im aiming to go to an ivy league school but i really dont think honors english is for me so is it still possible?

I recommend taking English Honors. It looks good on transcripts and helps you develop writing skills. I'm currently in 9th grade taking English Honors and it's one of my favorite subjects c:! I have heard some people in my grade saying that they regretted not taking it. If you have a problem with the grades, it could be a number of factors. Do you read too fast and don't absorb the materials? Or, is it vocab and essays? Either way, those can be improved somehow. I would sign up for it at first, and if you don't want to take it, you could always talk to your guidance counselor and change it. Hope everything works out!
