Since the US was founded as an English colony and reflects English values, such as the Constitution being based upon common law/English constitution. The US was also founded as a Protestant country not a Catholic
A lot of the Irish came during the potato famine, which the English were partially responsible and you could have never known their motives to attack a former English colony.

Things were a lot different back then. America could have them slave away in sweatshops or sweep them just under the rug. Terrorism was less of a concern. There wasn't a culture of anti-americanism among the Irish and Italians.
