Who's your favorite surrealist painter asides Dali and Magritte?
I'm trying to broaden my horizon in this genre though I do like Magritte.

I personally find a French aristocrat known as Regis Bouvier de Cachard, a most talented surrealist painter who, actually later on in life, acquired an accomplished gift in that style of artwork. He is definitely worth looking up, especially, his later paintings onwards from 1975. He, I believe, unfortunately no longer paints anymore probably due to his old age. He can be found on the web if you are interested in discovering his talented work.

I used to wander through books in college humanities and I ran across Bosch. Fascinating.
"In case you missed it, we’re coming to the end of “Bosch Year 2016,” the quincentenary celebration of the death of the late-medieval Dutch master known for his surrealistic images of the hereafter, and particularly for the fantastical hybrid demons that populate his hell.
Global commemorative events throughout the year have included major retrospectives in the artist’s hometown, ’s-Hertogenbosch, in the Netherlands, and at the Prado in Madrid."

Because of Surrealism's popularity, almost all famous painters during the late 1920s and 1930s produced surrealist works. There are almost 30 artists known specifically for Surrealism, from Eileen Agar to Bernard Requichot. Personally, I am fond of Francis Bacon and Frida Kahlo.

The other major name would be Max Ernst. I'll echo Photon - I had a Klee print on my wall as a teenager.
