Thurman vs. Garcia is going to be a fight that goes either way. It's that close.

I will go with Thurman winning a close decision.

Garcia doesn't do anything great, but he does many things solidly / very good. Unfortunately, he's also relatively predictable and linear - aside from his haymaker left hook.

Thurman is a better outside boxer, outside counter-puncher, and can throw very good looking combinations going forwards. Unfortunately, he often forgets defensive responsibility after throwing multi-punch combinations (especially from mid-range), he sends himself towards the rope when pressured, and he is allergic to inside-fighting (Luis Collazo and Shawn Porter hurt him on the inside to the body).

Garcia should have lost to Herrera and the Peterson fight should have been a draw. Basically, Garcia's best and most impressive win was against Lucas Matthysse down at 140Lbs. But then again, Thurman should have actually lost to Porter (if we're going by punches landed to scoring areas and by aggression).

This is why I think this fight is a toss up.

    As for Broner?

We've already seen the upper limits of his skills, techniques, and physicality. If you put Broner against someone smaller and/or C-level or lower, then he'll look like a billion bucks. If you put him up against someone his size, B-level or above, then he'll struggle or lose the fight. Broner got outlanded and pressed by a C+ to B level (but tough) pressure fighter in Granados. In actuality, (once again), if we're going by punches landed to scoring areas and by aggression, Granados won. But Broner is the known fighter and brings in the big bucks, so he got the nod. Broner's work rate was sporadic and he was too fixated on being a counter puncher. His philly-shell / shoulder-roll defense has never been elite - as many fighters have gotten through to his head and body.

Wilder is a protected Heavyweight fighter. He has 38 fights - and still has fundamental flaws with his stance, footwork, spacing, timing...as well as having flaws with his outside defense, punch rate, and punch combination selection. He'll last until he gets put in versus the upper tier of the Heavyweight division.

Danny Garcia to win a close fight on points.

Watched Broner, didn't score the fight but it's clear to me he's best suited at 140. The guys at welter are too big for him, he's not as effective and he looks small in the ring. He was a monster at 135, I think 140 would be the best division for him to campaign at. If he stays at 147 he'll eventually be knocked out. Imagine him in there with Brook for instance.

I had Wilder losing all but one round before the premature stoppage eventually came. I cannot believe the ref waved it off, Wilder was swinging and missing loads when he was trying to finish Washington off, he landed some too but no way was that a stoppage. Sadly though, Washington didn't seem to be protesting but if he did I think he would have had widespread support. Wilder's performance won't have put any fear in the other heavyweight champions or contenders, Ortiz and Miller are still dying to get in there with him no doubt.

What's your prediction for Haye vs Bellew btw?

I think, and I hope, it is gonna be a great fight. It is difficult to call, but I would go towards Garcia, either by a few rounds or stoppage.

Broner I think is over hyped, he should have won his last fight a lot more convincingly against an opponent like that. I thought it was a pretty dull match.

Wilder did the same as he has done since he won the title, he was reluctant to risk anything until he had a clear opportunity and then he knocked the guy out with the power we all know he has. It only took 5 rounds this time but he has taken a lot longer with others when I think he should have looked better and got the job done quicker. He will have to do more when he has better opposition, if he fights Joseph Parker soon he will have to throw more punches, and it will make for a better to watch fight.
